Word@Moment: Flourish2021-06-18T17:08:35+02:00

Flourish is what I am told to do.

“But I am like an olive tree flourishing in the house of God; I trust in God’s unfailing love for ever and ever.” Psalm 52:8

After my lessons in God’s love and learning to rest in His love, now is the season to flourish as I trust in His unfailing love.  A garden flourishes and I know I have a spiritual garden: “Mary, Mary, quite contrary, how does your garden grow?”

I love gardening, but it’s no use, looking at your neighbors’ garden and wishing you had a garden like theirs.  We make the mistake of appreciating the beauty of the garden, but not the work that has gone into preparing that garden for growth and fruitfulness.

Every garden will teach you, that you will only harvest what you have put into it.

A physical garden, has much to teach us about our own spiritual garden.  Our goal is to be a garden in which truth grows, as in (Psalm 1) “like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither.”  When we are planted in the Lord, we are like this.  We always have the water of His Spirit to sustain us and as a result we are fruitful, no matter what the season is.  We experience harvest because for the righteous person in Psalm 1: “Whatever he does prospers.”  Our confidence is in the Lord means that (Jeremiah 17:7-8) we do “not fear when heat comes and our leaves are always green.  We have no worries in the year of drought and we never fail to bear fruit.”

I don’t know about you, but I want to have a spiritual garden that is flourishing.  I want the following to be true of my life:

My beloved has gone down to his garden, to the beds of spices,
to browse in the gardens and to gather lilies.
I am my beloved’s and my beloved is mine;
he browses among the lilies. (Song of Solomon 6:2)

A flourishing garden, bears much fruit and God is glorified when we bear much fruit.

“This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.” (John 15:8)

Dear friend, I am on a path to grow a flourishing garden, hope you are too.

Be Fruitful

I AM Life

As I have meditated in my garden on the insights the Lord has given me, one of the aspects that has most fascinated me is photosynthesis.  Without which, the entire planet would die.  The simple process [...]
