A photograph is taking an image at a moment of time.  Being circumspect is like taking a picture of yourself and evaluating it at this Moment in Time.  To be circumspect, means to think carefully about possible risks and consequences.  This has been the word in my head lately: to be “circumspect” about life.  Perhaps it is because I have been doing a lot of thinking about my life and how I live it and in the process have discovered that I am being “circumspect.”

Paul tells us that we should walk “circumspectly” in the New King James:

See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil. (Eph 5:15-16 NKJV)

For me being “circumspect” in my life is to actively evaluate the circumstances in my life to identify how well I am living.  It is asking, if my action of living is in line with my beliefs or convictions.  It means evaluating my life internally as well as externally.

  1. Internally against the Word of God and
  2. Externally to see if how I live is in line with what I believe and if people are seeing Christ in me.

This has not been an easy journey for me, it has come at the end of a season of busyness and activity.  In a sense: what I am busy with, has started to define me.  The opinions of others have started to influence me.  As things get quiet in my life, it is time to have a good look at myself in the mirror of God’s word.

Everyone needs to do a season of internal and external examination, to ensure that we “live wisely” and “not as fools.”  We have only one life to live, a certain time on earth, time to ensure that one is living it correctly.

I hope this journey I took, serves to help you evaluate your life as well.

I trust, that when God has tested and disciplined you, you too, will encounter a harvest of righteousness in your live.

All my love,

Are You Suffering from Discouragement

Practicing Restraint

July 10th, 2015|

In my season of being “circumspect” it has been a season of having a good look at my character.  Not my personality, that is just how I express myself, but my character.  I told someone recently that “They choose to [...]

Heart-Mouth Connection

July 7th, 2015|

How do I know what I really believe? I listen to what I say. Being “circumspect” at the moment has involved listening to what comes out of my mouth.  It has pointed out thoughts and attitudes in my life I [...]

As You Think, There You Are

June 19th, 2015|

The statement: “As a man thinks in his heart so he is,” describes what is accepted as characteristic of any person - you are what you think.  As much as a plant is a product of seeds, so a man [...]

Watch for Low Tide

"Watch for low tide," and "Maintain Momentum" those are the two phrases whispered to my heart as I have settled into life after conference.  As I sort out the last of the boxes and make phone calls, it definitely feels [...]

I have a dream that seems to be taking forever to come to reality.  Every time I think we are nearly there, a door closes, an event does not happen, or I am let down etc.  It really rattles my [...]
